Shelby graduated with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2012 from A.T. Still University Arizona School of Health Sciences. She started working with the adult and geriatric population in acute and acute rehab settings in Arizona. Since moving to California in 2016, Shelby has worked in a few different settings including home health. In the home setting, she enjoyed being able to provide therapy in the patient’s natural environment. In contrast with acute rehab where daily tasks are often simulated to represent home, she sees so much value in performing these tasks in real time, in the environment the patient encounters every single day. She finds great personal and professional meaning in being engaged in occupations, or the daily, meaningful activities of life. Shelby is the assistant troop leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop. She enjoys swimming, paddle boarding and taking her kids to the beach.
